The Goal
De’Fiori is an ode to flavor, passion and goia di vivere. Exquisite compositions redefine tradition, by taking classics and fusing them with a contemporary style, both on the plate and in the design.
Just as Mario Nuzzi’s baroque paintings reflect the mastery of his genre, De’Fiori aims to bring the same opulent sense of detail and skill to the plate.

The Approach
Pairing bold contemporary typography and colors with classic illustrations and paintings creates an unexpected brand identity that feels lush, grandiose and opulent.
I created custom illustrations inspired by classic Italian motifs (such as motifs from my favorite card game “Scopa”) and fused them with the paintings by De'Fiori. To match the contemporary look, I adjusted the colors of the real paintings and used mirroring to create additional interest.

The Brand in Use
A restaurant such as De'Fiori needs versatile design, that’s applicable from social media, to web and even billboards. For De’Fiori I developed an in-depth menu, advertisements, coasters, and even their own wine bottles. The custom illustrations, the color palette, and typography along with varied brand marks create a cohesive experience across all media.
