The Creative Direction

The women behind Pelvic Potential, Annika Mewes and Daniela Künze, are both pelvic floor specialists and each has their own physiotherapy business. For Pelvic Potential, they were looking for a brand identity that was not tied with their respective brands, but a separate identity that is its own thing.

What makes Pelvic Potential unique is that there is no comparable format aimed at professionals and entrepreneurs in the healthcare industry and not primarily at patients. It’s by experts for experts. With Pelvic Potential, Annika and Daniela want to share their expertise and strengthen entrepreneurship in their industry. They also want to further break down the taboos surrounding pelvic floor health.

Especially as someone who is not a writer, it is rewarding for me to see how much of the language I used in the creative direction ended up being used publicly, for example in the podcast intro, the description, and their social media.

The Brand Design

The podcast is aimed at specialists in the field of pelvic floor and women's health, we wanted the design to be feminine, dynamic, and empowering, while still showcasing their professionalism

We also wanted to stay away from obvious trends in their niche, such as handwritten typography and soft pastel colors. We wanted to make sure that their podcast cover stands out when their target audience scrolls through available podcasts.

Instead, I chose bolder, yet feminine colors, such as a rich burgundy. The color palette can be combined in both classically elegant and with a modern and dynamic twist. The elegant burgundy tone is made more approachable by a friendly light pink. A bright orange provides an additional contrast and gives the palette an unexpected edge. A warm gray acts as a neutral color.

Annika and Daniela have contrasting personalities that shine through in the conversations they have on their podcast. The combination of a more playful font with a crisp, clean font wonderfully reflects the contrasts of their personalities and creates a dynamic and modern overall look.

To literally round everything off, we also utilized rounded corners as a design element for their layouts.

The Brand in Use

At the heart of the brand is of course the podcast with its cover. The brand design combined with the photography made sure to make this stand out among other podcasts in the health category

Because their main marketing platform for the podcast is Instagram, I also created Canva social media templates for Annika and Daniela to use, which not only allows them to focus on creating content instead of worrying about making it look good but also ensures that no matter which of them creates the content, it has a consistent look and feel

"Sara’s professionalism, commitment, and energy impressed me. She manages to put herself in people’s shoes and get ideas out of their heads onto paper. I also appreciated her clear structure and approach from the start. She developed a great branding for us and I feel very confident about its future. Please keep up the good work – I’m a fan!"
